I figured this was the perfect place for this.
My alma mater, Averett University, is hosting a Jane Savoie clinic weekend at the end of September and I've been planning on traveling up there for the weekend since they planned it (I'm currently in SC). I had previously asked the department head if I would be able to ride Ollie, the horse I leased from them for the summer while I was a working student and who I desperately miss, while I was in town and she said that was fine. So, naturally I was very excited, getting to see Jane Savoie, ride my favorite boy, and see some of my friends = wonderful weekend.
So, the other day my friend who's been organizing most of the clinic called me up and said she and the dept. head wanted me and Ollie to do a demo ride for the clinic on Saturday! Now, not only do I get to see Jane Savoie, I get to do a demo ride with her. We're going to pair Ollie and I with my friend and one of the horses she rides since he and Ollie have some similar issues. I am so excited I've been suppressing the urge to go and pack for the past two days.
Also, if anyone is interested in attending the clinic (I have no idea why I never posted this here before) you can still register to attend. General registration ended already, but you can register late until the 19th for a $10 fee. I believe there is a discounted student rate.
